SAINT ANNE - STATUE - WOOD

Statue entirely made of carved wood and painted by hand depicting St. Anne, the woman who gave birth to the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus. She is invoked as protector of pregnant women, who turn to her in order to obtain three great favors from the Lord: successful childbirth, a healthy child and milk enough to be able to breed it. She is the patroness of many professions related to her role of mother, such as laudresses and embroideresses.
